Thanks a lot for your contribution on the JDoc.
MariaDB, like Percona and many other are running but are not OFFICIALLY supported by the Project.
I will revert then your addition on the main https://docs.joomla.org/Technical_requirements
In an other way, some have already expressed the wish to have a dedicated page "experimentally supported" that could be linked to the main page. Maybe you can help to create this page.

MATsxm what about adding it as a note, replacing "Joomla is not yet compatible with MySQL 6.x." (which is dated anyway), with "Joomla also runs on MariaDB and Percona, but this is not officially supported). Greenman (talk) 14:09, 8 April 2016 (CDT)
