A shortcut to issues

Finding an issue on the Joomla! Issue Tracker or GitHub is not always so fast if you already know the issue number.

You could try to remember the complete URL to the issue tracker and append the issue number after that but that is also cumbersome. For those of us using Firefox there is a nifty feature built-in called Keyword shortcuts. A keyword shortcut is a quick way to open a page with user provided input. In other words you can open an issue by typing in your keyword shortcut and the issue ID.

Creating a keyword shortcut

1. Open your bookmarks
2. Go to the place where you want to add your new bookmark
3. Start a new bookmark
4. Fill in the following details:

1. Click Add to create the bookmark

Using a keyword shortcut

To open a specific issue on the issue tracker all you need to type into the location bar is: ji: 838

This will open issue 838 on the issue tracker.
