The Joomla! 2.5 End of Support (EOS) Notice that is shown in Joomla! 2.5.28 (and later versions, if applicable) Administration Control Panel , can be turned off by disabling the Plugin powering the notice.

This is not recommended, since users should be aware support for Joomla 2.5 is ending or has ended. Your website will continue to function as normal, however, security updates and bug fixes for 2.5 will no longer be supplied by the Joomla project.

To disable the Plugin, Click on Extensions - Plug-in Manager in the top admin menu, and then search with the Filter for: End of Support Notifier Click on the green check-mark to disable the Notice.

The plugin was added to the maintenance release of Joomla 2.5.28 to notify users support for the 2.5 version ends on 31 Dec 2014.
