Lees, om het makkelijk te maken om de documentatie informatie te vinden die u nodig heeft, onderstaande profielen en kies degene die u het meest nauwkeurig beschrijft en hoe u staat t.o.v. Joomla! Dit brengt u naar een plek waar de documentatie georganiseerd is volgens de doelstellingen waar u waarschijnlijk hulp bij nodig heeft. Denk eraan dat er een heleboel overlap is in de documentatie voor elk van de rollen; ze sluiten elkaar niet uit; kies dus degene die het dichts komt bij uw rol, zelfs als hij niet volledig overeenkomt. Om de gebruikersprofielen meer concreet te maken en daarmee schrijvers te helpen het materiaal beter op hen te richten, willen we personas creëren voor ieder profiel.

Joomla! documentatie profielen

Beginner

Als iemand die Joomla! nog niet eerder heeft gebruikt moet u weten hoe u aan de slag gaat. Misschien heeft u een vriend of buurman die Joomla! gebruikt en u wilt een eigen Joomla! website. Misschien heeft u een klein bedrijf of een club of community die een website nodig heeft en u wilt Joomla! daarvoor gebruiken. Misschien bent u een ervaren Informatie Technologie professional, maar u heeft Joomla! nog nooit gebruikt. Als dat zo is, dan begint u een erg leuke reis en we verwelkomen u van harte bij Joomla!

Developer

Als ontwikkelaar bent u belast met het wijzigen of uitbreiden van de functionaliteit van Joomla! of een van zijn extensies. U bent bedreven in een reeks programmeertalen, inclusief PHP, maar bent misschien minder vertrouwd met dingen als JavaScript of CSS. Als u nieuw bent bij Joomla! heeft u informatie nodig over het Joomla! Framework API en hoe het te gebruiken en maakt waarschijnlijk uitgebreid gebruik van best-practice voorbeeld code.

Jooomla! Administrator

Als website beheerder kunt u zich zorgen maken over het uiterlijk van een website, maar de verantwoordelijkheid voor het aanbrengen van wijzigingen en verbeteringen aan een webdesigner overlaten. Ook wanneer wijzigingen aan de functionaliteit nodig zijn, zult u een website ontwikkelaar inschakelen om de noodzakelijke werkzaamheden te doen. Als website beheerder bent u verantwoordelijk voor het dagelijkse beheer en onderhoud van de website. Activiteiten kunnen bestaan uit het zorgen voor goede back-ups van de website; het beheren van gebruikerstoegang; eventueel installeren van extensies. U zal ook verantwoordelijkheid zijn voor het handhaven van de veiligheid van de website.

Web designer

Als Webontwerper bent u betrokken bij het uiterlijk en de gebruikers functionaliteit van de website.
U wilt bijvoorbeeld weten hoe de stijl van een artikel veranderd moet worden maar maakt zich niet druk over de inhoud, of hoe die inhoud ingebracht en onderhouden wordt. Uw eerste focus ligt op de gebruikerservaring. U heeft kennis over HTML en CSS maar heeft waarschijnlijk slecht basis programmeer ervaring en kan dus extra ondersteuning nodig hebben met Javascript en PHP.
Uw kennis over Joomla! zelf hoeft niet uitgebreid te zijn aangezien u met een uitgebreide range aan content management systemen moet omgaan voor een breed scala aan klanten. U bent waarschijnlijk aangenomen om één of een paar templates te verzorgen, of u is gevraagd om een compleet werkende website uit te leveren. U bent waarschijnlijk toenemend bezorgd om zaken over de toegankelijkheid en zal zeker willen weten dat uw ontwerp diverse standaard testen volstaat.

Joomla! Code contributor

As a Joomla! Code Contributor... You're awesome. You'll be helping to fix bugs in the CMS requiring the knowledge of how to use Joomla! Code and GitHub as well as creating unit tests and new features.

Evaluator

As someone charged with evaluating Joomla! for your requirements, you want to find out as quickly as possible whether Joomla! is a good fit with your project.

Content creator

As a content creator you might have only a rudimentary knowledge of Joomla! Just sufficient for you to carry out your job of writing, assembling and publishing content on the website. You will need information about how to achieve specific goals associated with content creation starting with very basic information such as how to use a WYSIWYG editor. After becoming more proficient you might benefit from information about how to make use of some of the more advanced features that will streamline routine tasks.

Editor

As an editor you will be responsible for reviewing the work of content creators, amending it where necessary.

Publisher

As a publisher you will be responsible for ensuring that content on your website is kept up-to-date and relevant to your target audience. You might commission content creators and liaise with editors to ensure consistency and good organisation of the content.

Documentors

As a documentor you have the unenviable task of creating material for a wide range of readers from beginning users to advanced professional developers. You will need to know how to use various tools (such as this wiki) and you will need to read guidelines and other meta documents. You will probably need to update those documents over time too.

Web developer

As a web developer you may not be too concerned about the visual appearance of a website as you are tasked with producing functionality. You will probably have a good knowledge of HTML and CSS but will also be proficient in Javascript, PHP and a range of other languages. If you are new to Joomla, you will need support in developing or customising Joomla! extensions (components, modules, plugins, templates and languages). You will need information about the Joomla! Framework API and how to use it and will probably make extensive use of best practice example code. A strong understanding of Joomla! security issues is also important to you.

Tester

As a tester you are tasked with performing a predetermined sequence of operations in Joomla! and carefully observing and recording the results where they deviate from those expected. You may not necessarily be a developer, but you will probably be quite familiar with Joomla! itself.

Translator

As a translator you are asked to take on the responsibility of translating all the discrete strings found in the Joomla! front and back-ends as well as creating the necessary translation files. You do not have to be a Joomla! expert to contribute to the translation teams, and you do not have to have any development experience, although many of our translation workgroup members are experts and developers. You will need to know or learn how to use the translation debugging mode and how to assemble your translated strings into a translation file. You will also need to know or learn how to package translation files into an installable translation pack.

Trainer

As a trainer you are tasked with producing and running training courses and you will need to create training materials to support your learners. You are likely to have a thorough working knowledge of the aspects of Joomla! that are the subject of your training courses, but you might need to refresh your knowledge from time to time, especially as new developments take place. You will want to have access to ready-made training materials that you can adapt for your specific circumstances.
