Split Page into Specific Joomla! Versions - J2.5 and 3.x

It has been suggested that this article or section be split into specific version Namespaces. (Discuss). If version split is not obvious, please allow split request to remain for 1 week pending discussions. Proposed since 8 years ago.

To delete an article

For Joomla 2.5 use the following:

  1. Login to the Joomla! Administrator Back-end.
  2. Go to Content > Article Manger on the toolbar menu.
  3. Check the box next to the article(s) that you want to delete.

Then click Trash button.

If you want to make sure that the Article is completely gone from the system (so no further roll back is available), go to Content > Article Trash and delete it from there (this action is not accessible to users with Manager's privileges).

  1. Login to the Joomla! Administrator Back-end.
  2. Go to Content > Articles on the toolbar menu.
  3. Check the box next to the article(s) that you want to delete.

If you want to make sure that the Article is completely gone from the system (so no further roll back is available):

  1. In the Article Manager, click the Search Tools button next to the search box. This will cause several selector menus to appear.
  2. Click Select Status, and select Trashed.
  3. Select the article(s) you want to permanently delete, and click the Empty Trash button.

Note: Trashed Articles are not the same as Archived Articles.
